Now, here's her exclusive interview with UltimateHuman.Org:

What originally inspired you to get into medicine/ health/ wellness?

When I was 40, my 5-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Almost exactly one year later, I was going in for surgery to have my thyroid removed - thyroid cancer.

After the surgery, I was not able to feel like myself through conventional means. I set on my path of discovery of alternative means to feel vibrant & alive again.

Once I felt well, and my daughter was well, I went back to college with the need to help others. I graduated with a diploma in Holistic Nutrition at age 49, and I've never looked back.

At 50, I started a podcast to be able to help the masses - I needed a megaphone to show that we can come back from disease, we can heal ourselves once we recognize the signs, we can age better.

I am now 53, and living my best life.

What’s your favorite part about working in health?

I love to try new products, new supplements, and new hacks to see how they affect my physiology and wellness.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I am so proud of my podcast. My megaphone. I believe it is changing people's lives through the knowledge that there is more out there in the world of wellness.

What’s something new in health/wellness you wish more people knew about?

I wish more people knew about spermidine.

In my world it's been out for a few years, and I've been on it for about 2 years. Its power in helping people age better cannot be argued.

Autophagy is a massive factor in aging and using spermidine is an excellent way in which we might up regulate this process.

If you could wave a magic wand and fix something about the modern-day healthcare system, what would it be?

There's a lot I would change.

The biggest thing is that our current healthcare system needs to understand that wellness shouldn't be about a constant reaction to health crises - or putting out fires. We can also educate on preventative measures.

We can educate on the signs and symptoms our bodies are giving us. We can be proactive vs reactive. And we can't fix everything with a pill. Wellness takes work, and it is not linear.

Wellness insists we marry all facets of a healthy body, mind, soul. This means we must bring all facets to health together - Western medicine, Eastern medicine, natural medicine and more in order to make a difference and optimize our health.

What are you most excited about in the future of health?

I believe people are waking up - more are realizing that there is so much more to health than the current healthcare system
