Renee Belz, MS, CNC, is a holistic nutrition & lifestyle coach, entrepreneur, and podcaster originally from the state of Maryland.

Alongside her sister, Lauren Sambataro, she co-hosts the Biohacker Babes Podcast (Instagram: @biohacker_babes) — which features insights from a wide variety of experts in health & wellness.

Now living in Las Vegas, Renee loves helping people "discover their optimal personal nutrition and lifestyle plan." She believes everyone is unique and that there shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all approach to wellness.

The best place to find her online is on her website - ReneeBelz.com - and on Instagram: @ReneeBelz

Now, here's her exclusive interview with UltimateHuman.Org:

What originally inspired you to get into medicine/ health/ wellness?

Although I grew up with a lot of exposure to holistic health, biological medicine, and biohacking (thanks to my parents), it wasn't until my health crashed in 2008 that I became passionate about the topic.

Traditional medicine couldn't explain why I was chronically fatigued, so I had to look elsewhere.

After speaking with numerous holistic health practitioners and running many alternative lab tests, I discovered that my fatigue was due to poor circadian rhythm, lack of quality sleep, chronic Epstein-Barr virus infections, mercury toxicity, and HPA-axis dysfunction.

I had to take responsibility for my own health and find the answers to achieve optimal health.

This then led me to go back to school and get my Master's in Holistic Nutrition and become a health coach and podcaster...

I haven't looked back since!

What’s your favorite part about working in health?

Watching others become inspired to take responsibility for their own health and discover the magic of life as a biohacker.

People start to find answers to their lifelong health issues and are able to make the positive changes they have been looking for.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

Starting the podcast with my sister.

I love working with clients one-on-one, but the Biohacker Babes Podcast allows me to reach a larger audience every day.

It's also amazing to work with my sister and best friend on this incredible journey to change the world.

What’s something new in health/ wellness you wish more people knew about?

The importance of bioindividuality.

I still see people comparing their health journey to others around them, but we are all unique individuals! Our optimal nutrition plan, fitness regimen, sleep schedule, supplements and other biohacks depends on multiple factors including age, gender, physical activity, genetics, gut microbiome, hormones, health goals, etc.

This is the beauty of biohacking in my mind... the n=1 experimentation and continuous curiosity for what our bodies truly need.

If you could wave a magic wand and fix something about the modern-day healthcare system, what would it be?

I wish more holistic/ alternative services and products were more affordable for people — things like chiropractic, acupuncture, organic food, nutritional supplements, sleep trackers, or Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM).

What are you most excited about in the future of health?

The scientific research on longevity and healthspan.

The discussion around not just lengthening our time on this planet, but the years that we are healthy and thriving, is fascinating to me. I can't wait to see what we learn in the next 5 to 10 years within the topic of extending healthspan.

Is there anything else you’d like to add? A message you’d like to share?

The human body is incredibly intelligent.

If you can learn to tune in and listen to your body's intuition, you will tap into the innate wisdom your body provides.
